Inspiring video

In Room 6 our envio monitors (Logan and Finn). Shared with us this video of kids in Bali who are trying to reduce the use of plastic bags to save their environment. This video inspired us that if they can make a different so can we. We would highly recommend watching it! Thanks Mrs Daniels for sharing the video with the enviro monitors. Let us know your thoughts of the video in the comments below.

Emotion Poems

We have been writing poems about emotions. We did our brainstorm on Monday and today we wrote them. We used great descriptive words and similes. Miss Coffer was blown away with the great writing.

Anger
Anger tastes like lava
It tastes like hot chilli sauce
It smells like burnt steak on a barbecue
It looks like a traffic jam on a highway
It sounds like a volcano going to erupt
It feels like you are in a scandal
By Wilmer

Depression
Depression is grey like rain clouds
It tastes like expired milk
It smells like a rotten fish
It looks like a waterfall of tears
It sounds like a silent village
It feels like soggy carpet all over the floor By Logan
Sad
Sad is blue like beached whales
It tastes like a soup of tears
It smells like damp soggy bread
It looks like dead flowers
It sounds like the wheezing wind
It feels like it will last for ever
By Matthew

Relaxed
Relaxed is white like white fluffy clouds
It tastes like fresh cold water
It smells like a field of roses
It looks like a huge room full of soft pillows
It sound like an orchestra lightly playing in harmony It feels like flying through the sky above the great view By Yoonju

 Love
Love is red like a heart
It tastes like like chocolate that you get on valentine's day
It smells like sweet ice cream on a sunny day
It looks like two chocolate hearts kissing
It sounds like smooching
It feels like you're the heart By Xavier A

Eco Friendly Islands

In Room 6 we are creating an island (thanks for the idea Mrs Wallace). Our islands will be a place the public can come visit to learn about how to care for the environment. Our islands will show a variety of eco friendly practices. Today we went to Room 2 as they have already started on their islands. They explained types of solutions they have come up with for environmental problems and how they will put these in place on their island. This really got us thinking on the types of things we might like to do on ours.

Thanks Room 2 and Mrs Wallace for sharing your ideas and knowledge with us! You are awesome!

Marine Metre Squared Trip

On Friday we traveled down to the local estuary to complete our marine metre squared project. We had a look about what species are living down there. This week we are going to load our information up to the marine metre squared website. Big thanks to all the parents who came down with us - you rock!

Room 6 Song!

Each day in Room 6 we start the day with our song. This gets ready and excited for the day. We based the song off the Justin Timberlake song -  Can't Stop The Feeling by Justin Timberlake. Have a go singing along!

I got these ideas inside my brain
It goes electric, wavey when I turn it on
All through my classroom, all  through my school
We're looking up, no boundaries, when we in our room
I got that A+ in my school work
I got my best friend by my side
I feel that good vibe in my mind, it won’t stop,
I can't take my eyes off school work, writing so phenomenally
Room 6s rocks, the others are shocked, we can’t stop
And under the lights where growthmindset grows
Nowhere to hide when we’re getting ready to learn
When we move, well, you already know
So just imagine, just imagine, just imagine

Nothing I can see but you when you dance, dance, dance
A feeling good, good, creeping up on you
So just dance, dance, dance, come on
All those things I shouldn't do
But you dance, dance, dance
And ain't nobody leaving soon, so keep dancing
I can't stop the learning

So just dance, dance, dance
I can't stop the learning
So just dance, dance, dance, come on

Fridge Pickers

We are learning about graphs. In week 3 we recorded who went into the fridge at home and at what time on a dot plot graph, This week we reflected on this information and created posters to display our findings.

Tree Huts

Our buddy class is Room 20. Before camp we helped them make tree huts using recyclable materials. They looked pretty awesome!
